Napa’s Connolly Ranch, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, celebrated its 7 th annual Earth Night with Earth Night-at-home on August 1, 2020. It was a fun-filled evening where viewers could tune in and not only learn about Napa’s Connolly Ranch, view special guest appearances by Connolly Ranch’s barnyard animals, but also listen to the sounds of several local bands including Ohm Coffee Roaster’s own Derek Bromley and his wife, Jennifer Knight performing with their band, Mama Said.
“For the musicians, the sound and video crew, and the whole Connolly Ranch team, we were really amped to be able to create a live music event for people to enjoy, safely, in the midst of a pandemic,” said Derek. “We were all a bit giddy, or maybe that was just the Ohm Flash Brew talking! I brought a couple of cases to share...”
Getting involved with the Connolly Ranch benefit was an easy decision for Derek and Jennifer. What better way to combine a love of music and a deep commitment to the Napa community.
The mission statement of Connolly Ranch says it all:
“Our mission is to facilitate a deep intimate connection to nature. Located on a 12 acre historical farm in the heart of Napa, Connolly Ranch provides educational programs for people of all ages in an outdoor classroom setting.”
From organic gardening, the sources and benefits of healthy foods and knowledge of how nature works to sustain us, kids and families learn about farm life, the role of animals, ecology, sustainability, and an appreciation for nature.
Non-profits have been feeling especially challenged during this pandemic so it was the perfect opportunity to be outside in such a special place and bring awareness to the magic of Connolly Ranch to the viewers at home.
